Objective

Digital, visual reporting in place of manual work

Determined to modernize, the Presidency set out to digitalize its reporting and bring its data to life visually. It partnered with TURBOARD to lead that transformation, drawn to TURBOARD’s ability to connect to existing systems and turn complex, manual workflows into clear, interactive analytics.

Situation

A large institution with manual, static reports

Established in 1924, the Turkish Presidency of Religious Affairs (Diyanet İşleri Başkanlığı) is one of Türkiye’s largest public institutions, operating across numerous departments at home while reaching Turkish communities in more than 140 countries. An organization of this scale produces an immense, ever-growing volume of personnel and operational data.

Yet much of that data lived inside manual processes. Strategic plans were assembled by hand, and overseas assignments were tracked the old way: pins pushed into physical maps. The information was all there, but turning it into a clear, current picture took time and effort, and the result was always static.

Impact

What the Presidency can do with TURBOARD

Today, TURBOARD is used across all units of the institution. The Information Technology Department actively builds and manages reports, while other departments engage with insights through dashboards and presentations, and adoption keeps expanding as the project grows.

Since the Presidency of Religious Affairs began using TURBOARD, the institution has been able to:

  • Replace manual reporting with automated, visually engaging dashboards across the organization
  • Digitalize the strategy book, turning static plans into interactive showcases that are easy to monitor and share
  • Visualize overseas assignments on interactive maps, replacing manual pin-tracking with filterable geographic analysis
  • Consolidate scattered data into a single, reliable reporting environment for faster, data-driven decisions across all units
Resolution

From the personnel system to dashboards

TURBOARD connects directly to the institution’s Personnel Management Information System. Data is processed through automated ETL pipelines (Apache NiFi) and consolidated in a PostgreSQL environment built for reporting: a single, reliable foundation from which TURBOARD aggregates, analyzes, and visualizes the institution’s data in interactive dashboards.

The centerpiece of the project is the digitalization of the institution’s strategy book. What was once a static, hand-maintained document is now a set of dynamic, visually engaging dashboards that give leadership an immediate view of strategic objectives and progress. The overseas assignments once mapped with pins are now living, filterable geographic visualizations.
